All prices are per night (except midweek price for Yurts).
A Pitch
A Pitch
is any tent/ caravan/ motorhome etc, and includes up to 2 adults within the base price. Child Rates only apply to children sharing the family tent. There are no marked pitches on the camping field. We do not reserve specific pitches on the caravan field. Pitches are allocated on a first come first served basis.
Pitch Size
Up to 6.5m for a standard pitch. This will include most but not all 6 berth tents. Only caravans up to 6.5m/21ft can be accommodated due to turning. There is limited availability for EX Large pitches (tents only); we would not usually be able to accommodate anything larger than a 10 berth tent!
Minimum Stay
All pitches: 2 nights weekends and school holidays; Bank Holidays: 3 nights. . No single night bookings will be taken for a Friday/Sat nights. Yurts/ Geodome: min 2 nights midweek & weekends, 3 nights Bank holidays.
Deposits
50% of the total by cheque or bank transfer. We do not currently have credit card facilities.
Payment
Please settle your bill on the day of arrival, or the next morning if arriving after 6.30pm.
Site Policy/ Terms and Conditions.
We want everyone to enjoy their stay at Hidden Spring, Therefore please read and observe the following. Also remember you will be staying at our family home, we respect it and ask you to as well. – Anyone consistently breaching these policies or causing a nuisance will be asked to leave without refund:
Arrival Times
Your pitch will be ready from 12 noon & should be vacated by 12.00 noon on the day of departure. (Later departure/ earlier arrival may be permitted on request if the campsite is not busy) Please arrive early enough to pitch your tent before sunset. Late arrivals cause unnecessary disturbance to others. Please notify us if arrival is likely to be after 7pm – we have young children who need to go to bed! Firewood can be ordered in advance and left out for you. Yurts & Geodome: May be asked to vacate earlier or arrive later due to cleaning and laundry.
Electric Hook-ups
Only available on caravan field. Included in pitch price (for caravans/ motorhomes).
Noise & Nuisance
Quiet hours are between 10.00pm & 8.00am. No amplified music at any time, please respect your neighbouring campers & ensure you are not a nuisance to others on the site. Please respect other camper’s tent/ caravan space. Ball games may not be suitable at busy periods. No ball games after 9pm please. Intending partygoers, drunks, those of a rowdy disposition – please look elsewhere. This is a rural area and our home!
Dogs
Please keep dogs on a lead at all times on the site and please clear up. Do not bring your dog down to our house or shop/toilet areas. Do not leave your dog unattended on the site at any time. We reserve the right to restrict number of dogs on site.
Cars & Parking
Cars may not be permanently parked next to tents or yurts. Please remove to parking area at the side of the field. This is for child & animal safety, and to reduce the amount of mud! This does not apply to tents pitched on the caravan field. We do not have an extra charge for cars, but if have more than 1 vehicle per pitch you may be asked to park your ‘extra’ vehicle on the lower parking area.
Camper Vans
‘VW’ type campers may pitch on either field, BUT anything larger than a vw camper must be sited on the caravan field.
Barbecues & Camp Fires
Please read the fire safety information found at the fire points. Please use fire rings provided, or a fire pit that is set off the ground. Please place disposable barbecues on blocks or hire a BBQ stand. No firewood to be taken or cut from the farm or surrounding areas & lanes - bring your own firewood or you can buy from us. Open fires are not allowed on the caravan field – you may bring an enclosed brazier, or a BBQ.
Waste Disposal & Recycling
Please use the correct bins! - All recyclables must be correctly sorted. Do not leave behind excess packaging, broken deckchairs. BBQS etc – we do not enjoy going to the dump any more than you do! We can recycle, Glass (clear, green and brown), tins, cans and plastic and paper.
Hidden Spring is run on sustainable, environmentally friendly grounds & we ask that all campers respect that ethos. Every hour in the UK we generate enough waste to fill the Albert Hall & most of that waste is buried in landfill sites in the countryside. To preserve the countryside for future generations we ask that campers try to minimise environmental damage & landfill by waste reduction & recycling.
Reduce – your consumption & only bring what you need! Choose products that use the minimum packaging. Buy local produce, there is a farm shop within 5 min walk.
Recycle – separate & recycle tins, glass, recyclable plastic bottles, compostable waste & paper.
Re-Use – choose reusable products instead of disposable products (i.e. barbecues, mugs, cups & cutlery etc)
Group bookings
We no longer accept group booking in excess of 4 pitches due to past experiences of noise and nuisance. When booking for a small group we need details (i.e. address etc) of all parties coming. The person acting as the depositor will be responsible for the group’s total bill.
Health and Safety
Please comply with the following:
The speed limit on the site is 5mph. PLEASE DRIVE SLOWLY.
Children, walkers, animals etc.
This is a working farm. Please ensure children are properly supervised at all times.
Fire Safety
Please read and observe the fire safety information.
Animals
Do not enter any of the animal enclosures, or feed any of the animals on site.
We have a working apiary (Bees) beyond the orchard at the top of the camping field – Do not approach.
Liability
Hidden Spring Campsite is used by all persons at their own risk - we are a working farm & parents should ensure children are properly supervised at all times & not allowed to stray from the camping field or allowed near any farm machinery. Do not leave valuable items in your tent etc. & check you do not leave valuables in shower rooms or washing sinks. Cars/ bikes parked at owners’ risk.
Deposits & Refunds
Please note that deposits are non-refundable in the event of cancellation by the customer with less than 8 weeks notice. Likewise if you leave your pitch earlier than booked, or arrive later than booked you will be liable for the entire period originally reserved.
