The Tipi
Our tipi was a new addition for 2011, and proved popular with those who wanted a fun, but more basic and involved camping experience than the yurts offer.
It is 21 ft (so it's big!) and can sleep a single family of six easily. Adult only bookings may be accommodated, but please speak to us first. We are a quiet family site and adult groups must respect this.
We would always require 2 adults to be present when booking the Tipi, due to fire safety and to operate the smoke flaps. If in doubt talk to us! Pricing is for families.
The Tipi occupies a central position of Oak Tree field and has an internal fire and an external fire pit. The internal fire does have a fire guard, but we still do not recommend the Tipi for very young children as it can get smoky inside (if you use the fire!).
Please note this is a big space to heat – so bring warm blankets/ clothes.
There is self-catering equipment for up to 6, but no bedding is provided. There is no electric to the Tipi, and it is about 100m to the toilet/ showers (shared with the campsite).
No Candles in the Tipi (it is flammable!), unless in enclosed lanterns (not provided). Sorry no dogs allowed.
Tipis have a hole in the top. Ours is fitted with a rain catcher, but in severe wet weather it is not possible to maintain 100% dryness. Always roll back beds and store clothes away from the centre. For more information on the Tipi, please contact us.
